What is Pride?
The Pride Festival is a family oriented Pride event. Come enjoy live music, burlesque and drag performances. Check out the goods from local artists and businesses or learn about different organizations and groups who support the Vancouver Pride Society. This is our eighth year at the Pride Festival and it is a super fun party time extravaganza. Start with the parade, then head down to the beach for entertainment and shopping, then head out to one of the many Pride sponsored evening events going on all over the city!
When/ Where is Pride?
The Pride Festival will take place at Sunset Beach located on Beach Avenue between Bute and Jarvis. The festival will take place on August 4, 2019, after the parade from noon to 6pm. Admission is free but bring some spending money because there are lots of vendors to check out! This is a family-friendly event. You can bring a picnic or check out some really yummy food trucks. There is also a beer garden if you need a cool, refreshing, alcoholic drink. The beer garden is 19+.
Should you go?
You have no reason not to go to Pride. It is one of the best parties Vancouver throws! There is no dress code but if you’ve been waiting for an opportunity to dress to the nines then this is your chance. Wear your best sparkly tap shorts, corset and goggles, you’ll fit right in! More comfortable in jeans and a shirt? That’s cool too. You can come to bask in other people’s fabulosity. Not sure where you stand on costumes? Wear something you’re comfortable in and shop for an outfit while you’re there. You would not believe how many sparkly bras and pasties I’ve sold to people who wear it immediately. It’s all good and it’s all fun.
