What to Wear in Quarantine

Venus & Mars - Festival Costume Vancouver

We’re going through some uncertain times right now what with this global pandemic and all. It’s important and serious and everyone needs to do their part whether it’s washing your hands, social distancing or taking care of people who are vulnerable. It’s also a super anxious and stressful time and quarantine can be boring. Sometimes you need a little distraction from all the panic. What could be a better than a fashion distraction?

Dress for the Job You Want

If you’re lucky enough to be working at home, this is your time to shine. We’ve all heard the phrase “dress for the job you want not the job you have” and now is the perfect time to put that into action. Let me ask you this, do you really want to be an assistant or a lawyer or marketing director or do you actually want to be a Ranger raised by the mountain people who is secretly the one true King or Queen? If you didn’t answer the Ranger, you’re lying. It’s time to whip out a cloak and poet shirt and cut through paper work like Aragorn cuts through Orcs.

Your Sweatpants aren’t Curing Corona

If you’re not working from home but you’re still in quarantine, I’ve got some news for you: your sweatpants aren’t curing corona. In fact, you’re probably doing yourself more harm than good by living in your pjs and not showering for days at a time. It’s so easy to get depressed right now so do yourself a favour and dress like a boss ass bitch. You can wear anything you want right now so why aren’t you in sparkly leggings and a corset?

If You Have to Go Outside

Lots of people still have to work right now and we need them to so that society doesn’t collapse. If you’re one of those people, it’s probably not super practical for you to wear sparkles and cloaks but that doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun. I say lean into that apocalypse fashion and Mad Max your wardrobe. Goggles look badass and stop you from touching your face. Holsters make you look like you mean business and have many pockets for hand sanitizer. Plus, won’t you feel so much cooler roaming the empty streets dressed like Furiosa?

Listen, no matter what you do, you need to take COVID-19 seriously but you also need to have a little bit of silly in your day so you don’t just curl up in a ball and cry. It’s time for less panic attacks and more dress up. Have a quarantine fashion show! Our physical location is currently closed but you can still shop online 24/7. We’re offering free shipping within Canada so that you can live out your steampunk, cosplay, Lord of the Rings fantasy. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for outfit inspirations.
