Where Can I Watch Burlesque in Vancouver?

are these real corsets

Does your life just needs more glitter, tassels and butts? Well, good news because Vancouver has an incredibly active, unique and eclectic burlesque community!  There are monthly shows going on all over the city. Here are a couple you may want to check out!

Taboo Revue

Taboo Revue is a Vancouver’s biggest and longest running burlesque show. Put on by the Screaming Chicken’s Society, it is a monthly show that takes place at the Wise Hall in East Van. Whether you’re watching a Becoming Burlesque graduation show or checking out a seasoned pro, it’s an event that you’ll walk away happy from. There’s no dress code but dressing up is encouraged so why not wear your new corset?

Go Go Bungalow

Go Go Bungalow is your go to place for vintage cocktails and go go dancers. What could be better? It takes place every Sunday night at the Shameful Tiki Room on Main Street. Dance to surf, soul, rock and roll and motown or sit back and take in the tiki decor. If you want to dress in theme, we suggest adding some rainbow sparkle glovelets to your outfit.

Glam Slam

Glam Slam is when burlesque meets wrestling. It’s a weird combo but it works. Whether you’re watching wrestlers who do burlesque or burlesque dancers who wrestle, it’s a good time for everyone. Glam Slam is a monthly event that takes at the Wise Hall. But be warned, it sells out super fast so if you have to opportunity to grab tickets, do it! It is highly encouraged that you dress up so come grab some gold leggings and show off your moves!

There’s so many cool burlesque events in Vancouver that you should totally check out. The ones I’ve listed are ones that occur regularly but groups like Geekenders do limited run shows like Star Wars: A Nude Hope and one off shows all the time. So lookout for them and support your local artists! What’s your favourite burlesque show in Vancouver?
